New York based band Scratcher concocts a power pop cocktail that's not to be sipped with sophistication but drunk with reckless abandon.
Formed in 2000 Scratcher has steadily continued to grow it's fan base playing live at such NYC venues as The Mercury Lounge and The Bowery Ballroom.
Fronting Scratcher is Melissa Kanester. The baby (or better yet "babe") of the band is a burst of energy from San Diego. You can feel the pounding tempo of her heart as she belts out the frantic verses to "Still Waiting".
Lead six-stringer Dylan Mitchell is a guitar player's guitarist. With an encyclopedias worth of riffs stored in his fingertips he never stops learning more about his instrument 20 years after picking it up.
Multi-talented Brian Kerr can do it all. Recently hanging up his bass to help spearhead a fatter guitar sound to Scratcher. He also provides backround vocals and tickles the ivories on occasion.
Taking hold of the bass ranks is the goth-loving S.A. Sebastian Gnolfo. S.A. actually studied music in college and hasn't stopped since. An experienced touring musician S.A. has criss-crossed the U.S. and Europe.
Rounding out the quintet is drummer Tim Dillingham. When he's not behind the kit he's busy dreaming up the next band flyer or website addition.
